Softball League
The Special Olympics Illinois has announced the formation of a softball league for Southwestern Illinois that will commence this summer. The league is expected to consist of six teams this first year, and will be based out of the Bethalto Sports Complex on Culp Lane in Bethalto.

Special Olympics has filled the rosters for three teams and is looking for athletes to fill three more. Approximately 45 players are still needed in order to field a full six teams. This league is open to people from the entire area.

The league is expected to start play in mid-June and end in late July. Games will be scheduled on Saturday There are needs for the following
youth softball equipment:
Catcher's gear
Shinguards
Gloves
Batting helmets w/chin strapsmornings from 9 AM until 10:30 AM.

Interested families are encouraged to call for more information or to obtain an application.
